This week has been a whirlwind of preparations for Thanksgiving.  I didn’t grow up celebrating Thanksgiving, we had harvest and then Christmas. No thanksgiving. That isn’t to say that we didn’t give thanks, we just didn’t have an actual day.

Everytime we got together as a family, whether it be for a Saturday afternoon at Aunt Patsy’s house to pick up fresh baked bread, or monthly Sunday family dinners or even the days when my grandmother would feed whoever showed up for lunch. It was a moment of thanksgiving. those moments of camaraderie sitting around a table talking about your day, your life, and the people in it.

Those moments are precious, and often times rare. So my advice is to treasure them.

We’ll be having friends and family over on Thursday. All of these people hold a special place in our lives. And no matter the stress of running around cleaning and cooking it’s worth it.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

On another note, I’ll be combining my People of Interest post with my Wednesday post, it’s just easier that way for me.
